Inspired by the beauty of a peacock feather, these exquisite chandelier dangle earrings are encrusted with glitzy fushia pink round crystals. The earring pendant links two pieces to give the bottom piece independent movement. It has an exquisite step-like design exuding depth and beauty. The peacock feather silvertone outline is millgrained to accentuate wonderful texture. The silvertone metal on the back is high polished, bright and smooth which was a style made popular around the late 40's to early 50's. The clip backs have adjustable screw mechanism. This type of screw clips was designed by Markus Jellinek and patented in 1946. Even though the year of utility patent does not necessarily mean the year the earrings were made, it is safe to say that these beauties were made between late 40's and early 50's judging also by metal of the findings. One strand is hung from the top of the beautiful goldtone filigree milgrain domed cap and the other four from the side. These gorgeously unique earrings are unsigned but are attributed to Weiss as they came from a socialite's Weiss jewelry collection. The Aurora Borealis crystal prisms are sparkling with fire. However, the clear rhinestones of the rhinestone balls have yellowed and dulled a bit from age. This flaw is discounted in the price. Still a stunning pair of earrings, very beautiful and special.
