The jewelry items they created in the early years were of museum quality even though they were Costume jewelry. They were considered good enough for queens. Hobe quit manufacturing jewelry sometime in 1992.

These gorgeous signed Hobe vintage dangle earrings are exemplatory work showcasing Hobe's high quality, meticulous craftmanship and talent! The top features sparkling Aurora Borealis red crystals with a gorgeous lustrous center white pearl set with multi fancy prongs and surrounded by luxurious white faux pearls on wire. The bottom has the similar design. The only difference is that instead of a center floret, it has a spinning wheel with prong set glittering Aurora Borealis red crystals and, get this, the spinning wheel moves in a circular motion when you spin it! So fun, innovative and beautiful! These beauties are signed Hobe with no copy right symbol. Because of that, I thought they were made prior to 1955. However, Aurora Borealis coating was not invented until after 1955. So, I woud date these beautiful Hobe's earrings to the 1955 era. Exquisitely hand crafted and in excellent condition! Clip backs. He founded the Robert DeMario Company in the mid 40's in New York and continued making jewelry until the late 50's. Though DeMario and Haskell jewelry is quite similar, they never worked together contrary to popular belief.

Gilt brass edged flower and vines layering over delicious warm mocha colored lustrous faux pearls in a lovely paisley design with glistening amber crystals dotting the piece! Every pearl and crystal is hand prong set, one pearl at a time, crystal after crystal, then hand wired onto an ornate filigree gilt brass two-layered base. Only a talented artisan such as Robert DeMario himself could achieve such immaculate details so beautifully. Since DeMario was in business for only a brief period of time, his pieces are hard to find and very sought after. Not only are these DeMario vintage beauties highly collectible and superb, they are in excellent condition.
