Designer: The Whiting & Davis Company founded in the early 1900's is world known for making mesh jewelry and mesh purses. Charles Whiting was hired by Mr. Davis and later became a partner of the company. The company ceased manufacturing jewelry in the early 1980's.

Unsigned Whiting And Davis goldtone mesh snake necklace from the 50's! Even though this exotic snake necklace is unsigned, the signature scaling technique used in the tubular gold mesh body and its width and weight make this vintage snake necklace unequivocally Whiting and Davis. The snake head serves as a decorative clasp. The underside of the snake head has a latch which can be latched onto any part of the necklace to accommodate the desired length of the wearer.
