Exquisite rose brooch for your sweetheart! This gorgeous brooch has two gold tones and a rivet construction. The two roses are rose gold and the leaves are yellow gold. It is gold filled and marked 1/20 12K GF on silver. Gold filled does not mean it is filled with gold. It means that the top and bottom sheets are gold sandwiching a sheet of silver in between so that the metal touching your skin is gold. The mark 1/20 12K GF dates the piece to the 40's era when base metal was used for the war effort and was substituted by silver. 1/20 means that 1/20 of the entire weight of the piece is 12K. This spectacular brooch radiant brightly. It is not only a profoundly beautiful piece of wearable art, you are wearing a piece of jewelry history close to your heart. This unique exquisite large crystal dangle brooch is an unsigned Vendome book piece! The large crystal bells of this brooch are not just any crystals. They require expert skills and technique to create each one. Each bell measures 5/8" and there are 16 of them! Not only are they brilliantly faceted, the top of the bells have what looked to be a citrine colored crystal imbedded in them! The middle of the bells is sparkling clear and then towards the bottom the color interchanges from blue to smoky at the slightest quiver. So each bell has three colored layers (citrine, clear and smoky blue) and when the bells move slightly, you'll see a burst of gold, clear and smoky blue faceting glitter shimmering endlessly. More... the bottom of the bells is attached to a diamond-shaped glistening amber crystal to throw off even more gold sparkles. Also note that each crystal bell is suspended from a clear crystal flower which is riveted to a shiny diamond-shaped curved edged frame! Jade is a symbol of prosperity, good luck, success and health. The Chinese call it the heaven's stone. The center is a lustrous round green jade expertly tooled into an auspicious Chinese motif and is framed by four elaborate gilt heavenly dragons. Dragons are creatures of mythology and is believed by the Chinese to be the most powerful beasts. Chinese emperors wore nine embroidered dragons on their robes as they were believed to be the sons of the heaven. This imperially regal vintage brooch is hefty and well-constructed. It weights almost 2 ounces. The round jade is 1 1/4" in diameter, almost 1/4" thick and the exquisitely handcrafted dragon frame has wonderful thickness. A jewel worthy of the king!
