Designer: Signed CARNEGIE. The Hattie Carnegie Company operated between 1917 and 1970. Carnegie began designing jewelry to complement her dress designs which attracted the rich and famous. Her designs did not follow the trend of the time to simulate real jewels but instead showed tremendous originality.
These spectacular signed Hattie Carnegie Art Deco dangle earrings are one
of Carnegie's fabulous vintage pieces. They have a sumptuously elegant layering
design - very long (7 1/2") strands of brilliant cut clear rhinestones folded
over slightly off center so that the strands at the back are draping down about
one inch longer than the front. The top fold has a beautiful Aurora Borealis
clear crystal handwired rosette. The rhinestones are first laid on white corded
nets before they are pronged in a metal setting. All done by hand! Can you imagine
the time, care and talent required to creating these shoulder dusting beauties!
They don't make jewelry like this any more. All the brilliant cut paste stones
are glittering like there is no tomorrow. Truly breathtaking! Clip backs. Excellent
